Getting Started
Getting started with grid can be daunting, here are some basics to get you going.
Get a grid certificate
To get going on grid you will need a valid grid certificate, which is your digital identity on the grid.
Find a community
More than 200 communities - in grid nomenclature "Virtual Organisations" - for various scientific disciplines or geographical regions exist, each with their own structure and resources.
For any use cases within High Energy Physics, you may contact Australia-ATLAS directly for support. You can find the full list of Virtual Organisations on the grid operations portal. Take a look - see if you can find a community that fits your needs, and get in contact. If you have difficulty, or you can't find a community that meets your needs, you may send an email to community-support@egi.eu .
Requesting Support
There are many teams which provide support on the grid infrastructure. In many cases, you can find user support within your own Virtual Organisation. However, should you need any other support, it can be obtained from the Global Grid User Support system (GGUS) - simply visit the site with your certificate loaded in your browser and submit a ticket. Fill in as much information as you can, however, don't be alarmed - if additional information is required, the support team will ask nicely.
